Let’s face it…the economy stinks and the job market is a joke. The more experience you have, the harder it is. Why? The kids coming out of school are demanding half our pay so we’re being put out to pasture while we still have plenty of good years ahead of us. And if you think it’s easy finding a job in your 40s, think again. Well, fortunately, earning a solid income from home is not only possible, but it’s not as hard as you might think. Yes, it takes work, but the steps involved are not that complex. This article is going to outline the 3 simple steps to earning a solid income from your home.
The first step is the hardest but will also set the foundation for everything else that you do. First thing you have to do is target a market that you want to monetize. There is a very simple way to do this so that you’re not beating your head against a stone wall. The first step is to go to Wordtracker or a keyword research tool of your choice and look up keywords in that market to see how many people are actually interested in it. If there is no demand, you won’t sell something that nobody wants. Then, after you have done that, go to Google, or a search engine of your choice, and see how many competing sites there are. If you are competing with millions, you’re going to have a tough time monetizing that market.
The next step is to plan out HOW you are going to monetize that market. For example, let’s say you decide to target the natural health market. What are you going to do? Are you going to write your own book on the subject or are you going to promote an affiliate product on the subject? Are you going to set up a membership site where members get valuable tips to improve their health each month? Are you going to have more than one product? All of this must be thought out before you even begin to put something together.
The final step is the easiest…market. There are more ways to advertise on the Internet than Imelda Marcos has shoes. If you’re low on funds, the best ways to market that are free to low cost are articles, forum participation and good old fashioned search engine optimization. By combining as many forms of promotion as you can, you’ll begin to see results quickly. Then, as you start to see an income, you can invest in more expensive forms of advertising such as pay per click.
That is all there is to it. This isn’t rocket science. Find a market with a growing need for a solution to a problem and solve it.
